We are currently recruiting for Summer/Fall 2024 and beyond.  Prior experience is not required.  Priority is given to EMS and fire qualified applicants.

If you are a student pursuing a higher education or have full time employment — and prior experience in fire, rescue, and EMS — here’s your chance to become part of a fast-paced emergency services environment. The Fort Jones Fire Department Intern/Resident program was one of the first in the County and continues to drive future leaders of the fire service.

Fort Jones Fire Department Intern/Resident program typically has openings for Spring and Fall semester timed move-in dates.

We are located 15 miles SouthWest of Yreka's College of the Siskiyous Campus and 45 miles from the Weed College of the Siskiyous Campus.

Fort Jones Fire Department Intern/Resident Program has hosted many Fire and EMS volunteers from across the west coast many attending local colleges.  Many of these people have moved on to high paying careers with agencies such as Cal Fire, USFS, San Francisco Fire, Sacramento Fire, Los Angeles Fire Department etc.
